​Over the course of Four weekends, you will gain all the skills necessary to teach private clients or classes on the Pilates Reformer.  During our Pilates Reformer Teacher Training in Victoria BC, class size is limited to ensure you are receiving the highest quality of personal instruction and ample time on our beautiful equipment.  

 

You will learn how to safely set up the machines and make adjustments to suit all individuals. We will cover a wide array of exercises on the Pilates Reformer as well as modifications to adapt to individuals who are pregnant or have injuries. This course puts a strong emphasis on the musculoskeletal system to understand the purpose and benefits of each exercise.

 

We focus on a progressive leveled teaching technique to ensure you are able to adapt to a wide array of clients and situations. A variety of small props will be used throughout the course to add to your repertoire and create further refinements. At the end of this course, you will leave with a well-rounded education to become a highly skilled and confident Pilates Reformer Instructor.

 

Reformer Level 1 Curriculum Outline:

  • Essential principles and philosophy as applied to Reformer

  • Musculoskeletal system review

  • Pilates Reformer exercises

  • Benefits and contraindications of each exercise

  • Modifications and variations

  • Introduction to Jump-board/Cardio-tramp

  • A progressive safe teaching technique

  • Sequencing for group classes

  • Effective communication and cueing

  • Refining observation skills 

  • Pre/postnatal Pilates on the Reformer

  • Length: Three weekends - 48 hours (plus out-of-course requirements and final practicum)

 

 

Times:​

  • Saturdays: 12 pm - 6:00 pm

  • Sundays:  12 pm - 6:00 pm

You Will Receive:​

  • ​In-class teaching time to refine your skills

  • Written quizzes/tests to ensure your understanding

  • A detailed final practicum review for your further growth and refinement

  • A certificate of completion

  • $2200.00 - **Payment plans are available upon request.

  • DCM Comprehensive Reformer Manual Lvl 1 ($129)

Out-of-Class Requirements

  • Minimum practice teaching time of 4 hours (unpaid work with your own chosen participants). This must include a signature from each attendee from each class. This can be done at any facility or private location and you must let them know that it is a practice only and that you are not yet certified.

  • 20 hours of Physical Review/observation. (a combination of in-person and online is acceptable). ​​​​

To Successfully Complete the Program You Must Achieve the Following

  • Complete all in-class activities

  • Participate in all teaching, classes, and lecture time

  • Complete all homework prior to receiving your certificate

  • Pass your final proficiency exam with 80% or higher

  • Pass your final practicum with 80% or higher

  • Finish all Out of Class Requirements

  • Abide by our Pilates Code of Ethics
